This is the second year in row Robyn & Doug have thrown a themed birthday bash to celebrate all of the kids’ birthdays rather than 4 separate parties. Grace was 9 in June, Sarah 3 in July, the twins will be 8 in September and Daniel will be 5 in October. 50 plus quests showed up to help with the celebration. Robyn asked that quests bring a new children’s book to be donated to the local library rather than a gift for the birthday kids. Even though quite a few books were collected, “several” gifts managed to find their way to the Adams household before and after the party.
Party activities included Jedi Trials (teams of two kids running an obstacle course and then going after Darth Vader), a “Who am I?” guessing game, a version of “Mother May I?”, arts and crafts, and of course cake (made and decorated by Robyn) and ice cream. The kids who were too young to know about Star Wars hung out in the sandbox and bugged their moms. A dog showed up that was as big as a horse and looked like a cow. After most of the quests had gone home the kids got to open some of their gifts. Because I took sooooo many pictures, I have divided them up into three groups. Click on the group you want to view. Party and gift pictures, before and after shots, and some miscellaneous photos. Oh, and here is a video of the Happy Birthday song. As you view the slide shows you will notice that Sarah is wearing a collar. She woke up Friday morning in great pain from a stiff neck. A trip to the doctor resulted in having to wear the collar for a few days to take stress off the neck muscles. She did an excellent job wearing the device.
